GREENWOOD WOMAN DIES ON WEDNESDAY
FUNERAL RITES FOR MRS. ANNA JOHNSON TO BE HELD SUNDAY AFTERNOON


Greenwood--Mrs. Anna Johnson, 79, died at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 19, 1947 at her home here after a lingering illness following a stroke. She was confined to her bed for the past six weeks.


Funeral rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Stabnow Funeral Home, where the body will lie in state beginning Friday morning, and at the United Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. Theodore Nelson will officiate and burial will be made at Greenwood.


Ann Thorstensen was born Dec. 27, 1867 at Starodalen, Norway, where she received her early education. She came to the United States in 1887 and worked for several years in Chicago before her marriage to Martin Johnson in the city in Dec. 1891.


In 1908 the couple moved to a farm in Hawkins, where they resided for 10 years. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson moved to Greenwood in 1918, and Mr. Johnson was engaged in farming in the western city limits for several years. Mrs. Johnson had resided in Greenwood since that time. Mr. Johnson died July 13, 1934.


She was a member of the United Lutheran Church, and the Good Hope Ladies Aid Society.


She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Johnson, at home two sons, John Johnson, at home and Thor Johnson, Wisconsin Rapids a sister, Albertine, in Norway five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.


Besides her husband, two sons, Peter and Arthur, and a brother and sister preceded her in death.
