IRVIN E. GATES, 47, DIES ON THURSDAY
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD MONDAY FOR GREENWOOD RESIDENT


Greenwood Irvin Edward Gates
, 47, died at 6 o'clock Thursday morning, April 20, 1939 at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks. Mr. Gates had been in poor health since Dec. 1938.


Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Gates home, and at 2 o'clock at Grace Methodist Episcopal Church. The Rev. C.R. Gaylord will officiate at the rites. Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. Gates was born June 6, 1891, on the farm now occupied by Floyd Potts, 6 miles south of Greenwood, Clark County. He had made his home in this vicinity his entire life.


Surviving are his wife and two sons, Orlando Boyce, Marshfield, and Eugene Boyce, Greenwood his mother, Mrs. S. L. Gates, Greenwood and a brother, Harley Gates, of the state of Oregon.
