Mr. Chandler spent much of his early life in Greenwood, where he attended school in the little red schoolhouse with Mrs. O. C. Behrens, and his mother was the school teacher. He was a member of the Methodist Church and Sunday School., fire department, school board and Lafayette County Board and was president of the Lafayette County Insurance Underwriters.
