OBITUARY OF HENRY SCHWEDELAND


Mr. Schwedeland
was born in Germany and came to the United States in 1898, settling in the Columbia community. His wife passed away in June 1924. Since then he spent some time with his children in Milwaukee and Chicago. Four months ago he came to live with Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Lavendowska, residing 5 miles southwest of here (Greenwood, Clark County).


He passed away Sunday morning, June 12, 1938 at 6:00 o'clock. The cause of his death was diabetes. He has been in poor health for a number of years and was seriously ill the past three weeks.


He is survived by five children, Alfred, Bruno, Edwin, Hertha and Leo.


Funeral services were conducted at the Schiller Funeral Chape Wednesday afternoon, June 15, 1938. Interment was made at Columbia.
The pallbearers were Arthur Syth, Earl Tompkins, Leo Stanley, Hugh Christie, James Syth, and Vivian Carteron.


Mrs. Geo. Haeuser and Mrs. Harold Stabnow sang several selections, accompanied by Miss Bishop on the piano.
