OBITUARY OF MRS. JOHN STAFFORD


Charlotte Melissa Bovee was born in Jackson County, Wis., Sept 22, 1857 and passed away at the home of her niece at Fairchild at 10:00 o'clock Saturday evening, April 9, 1938, where she has been living for the past two years.


She was united in marriage to John A. Stafford on July 4, 1873. They made their home on a farm south of Greenwood and later moved to this city. Three sons were born to this union, Milford of Marysville, Oregon, Elmer of Greenwood and Alex who passed away in infancy. Mr. Stafford passed away Sept. 28, 1922.


She was a member of the Methodist Church and an active member of the Aid.


She is survived by her two sons, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, John and Daniel Bovee of Fairchild, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Corlin Bovee of Eau Claire, besides a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.


Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Methodist Church, with Rev. C.R. Gaylord officiating. The body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The pallbearers were Ed Buker, B. F. Ketchpaw, Chas. Varney, John Arends, John Drummond and John Wuethrich.
