ATHENS - Lois Jean Voelker, 61, Athens, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at the Colonial Center in Colby.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Community Funeral Home in Colby. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate.


Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery in the town of Colby, Clark County. Pallbearers will be Arvin Kramer, Bennie Mootz, Mike Sheets, Donald Drinka, Roy Bailey and Robert Voelker.


Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today and then from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday, both at the funeral home.


Lois was born July 11, 1939, the daughter of Lester and Pearl (nee Kenyon) Morrison. She attended Spencer Schools.


Lois and Stanley Voelker were married July 28, 1956, in Colby. Lois enjoyed reading and being with her grandchildren, collecting dolphins and camping.


She is survived by her husband, Stanley Voelker of Athens her father, Lester Morrison of Marshfield her children, Ronald (Claudette) Voelker of Dorchester, David Voelker, Donald Voelker and Steve (Debra) Voelker, all of Abbotsford, Tammy (Mike) Sheets of Dorchester, Nancy Voelker of Abbotsford, Lori (Donald) Drinka of Colby, Ann (Vernon Jr.) Patz of Chetek, Jamie Voelker and Amy Voelker, both of Abbotsford 14 grandchildren and five step-grandchildren her sisters, Kathy Kotas of Stratford and Marlene Mootz of Merrill, and Linda Elmhorst of Neillsville her brothers, Ray Morrison of Loyal and Jim Morrison of Montevideo, Minn. 27 nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.


Lois was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah son, Kevin her mother, Pearl Morrison and her in-laws, Harriet and Oscar Voelker.
