Konstant John K. J. Uher, 93, died in the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire on Saturday, May 18, 1996. He was born in Czechoslovakia on August 22, 1902, the son of John and Eva Uher. He moved with his family to Chicago, Illinois, and became a United States Citizen in 1929. He worked at the Chicago Foundry and married Victoria Tomczak in Chicago, Ill. in 1925. They and their children moved to Thorp, Wisconsin in 1930 where they farmed. They then farmed in the Gilman area and then moved to Phillips in 1945 where they farmed. After the death of Victoria in 1959, he retired from farming and moved to Eau Claire. He worked at the Jopke Mink Ranch, and then as a custodian at the Luther Hospital until the time of his retirement. He married Ruth Berg in 1971 and she preceded him in death in 1982. He enjoyed dancing, bowling and playing his accordion.


He is survived by one daughter, Veronica Walker of Eau Claire one son, Walter (Theresa) of Phillips 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild two brothers: Felix and Rudolph of the Chicago, Illinois area. He was preceded in death by his wives: Victoria and Ruth one sister Cotilda, one brother, Ernest and by two sons-in-law, Alvin Pinkert and Donald Walker.


Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Phillips, Wis, with Father Clement Sobr celebrating the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, May 21, 1996, 2:30 p.m. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Phillips.
