JOHN MCKENNA LAID TO REST

John McKenna, a well known resident of this city passed away at his home Wednesday April 12, 1922 at twelve o'clock.

Deceased was born in Adlet village, Ontario, Canada on July 4, 1846, being 76 years old at the time of his death. He came to Clark County in 1876 and was united in marriage to Signie Huntzicker in 1882. Clark County was then a wilderness with only a few thinly scattered neighbors, and nearly a score of years found him in the lumber camps during the winters. Nearly forty years ago Mr. and Mrs. McKenna began the battle of life together on their farm three miles south of this city, where they lived until about three years ago, when his health failed him and they moved to town.

Eight children were born to this union. The six surviving are Adolph and John of Portland, Ore. Wm. On the home place Mrs. Fred Halle of Janesville Settlement and Martha and Mary of Greenwood. They are left to hold in remembrance a true husband and patient, loving father.

For over two years he has been a patient sufferer. Everything that could be done to gain his recovery was done but to no avail, and lovingly and peacefully he harkened to the Savior's call.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his devoted wife, six children, eight grandchildren, five sisters, three of Ontario, Canada and two of Arizona, besides a host of friends who join the Gleaner in sympathy for the bereaved family.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Catholic Church, Rev. Achtelik officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery.
