Ann L. Konsella (1912 - 1999)


Ann L. Konsella, 86, of Gilman, died Wednesday, May 12, at Zastrow Care Center in Gilman. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 15, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Nelson officiating.


Burial took place in Holy Family Cemetery in Stanley.


Gilman Funeral Home in Gilman handled the arrangements.


The former Ann L. Shortell was born June 27, 1912, in Kimball, S.D., to Patrick and Anna (Tooney) Shortell. The family moved to southern Wisconsin in 1919 and later to a farm in the Thorp, Clark County, WI area. Her marriage to August Konsella took place on September 4, 1935, at St. Mary's Church in Stanley. He died on May 18, 1982.


She and her husband moved to a farm in the Town of Cleveland in 1936 and farmed there for many years.


Survivors include a brother, Vernon Shortell of King, and many nieces and nephews.


In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents four brothers, John, Dale, Frank, and Alvin and three sisters, Marjorie Konsella, Eleanor Shortell and Lillian Olson.
