John E. Cook was born in Ohio, Oct. 17, 1871, died at Hoard, Wis., March --, 1903, leaving a wife and three small children. Mr. Cook came to Wisconsin from Iowa last September, bought a farm and started to make a home. the deceased had been a cripple from youth. About three weeks ago his house took fire and he over exerted himself, the result was, the lame leg gave out and in spite of all friends could do he grew steadily worse.

Mrs. S. S. Cook, his widowed mother reached him a few days before his death. A younger brother, Bus-- Cook, and a brother-in-law were here to help the young wife in her trouble. The remains were taken to Iowa.
