Braun, Fredericka (1849 - 1925)

Mrs. Fredericka Braun
Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Rau, Tuesday morning, July 28th 1925, at 7 P.M. The funeral services were held at 1 o'clock today at the home followed by a service at the Peace Church at 1:30, Rev. Bizer officiating. Interment was made at the Peace Church cemetery north of the village (Dorchester, WI).

Mrs. Braun was born in West Preusen, Oct. 25th, 1849 and was 75 years, 9 months and 3 days old at time of death. She was married to John Braun in Germany and twelve children were born to them, six having died in Germany, 1 while crossing the ocean on their way here, and 2 in later years, so that only three children survive the mother.

The Brauns came to the United States in 1887 and to Dorchecter Country and for 25 years lived on a farm west of town. 13 years ago they moved into the village, Mr. Braun dying the same year.

She lived part of the time with her son, Otto, at Colby, until two years ago when she returned and has since made her home with Mr. and Mrs. John Rau, her health being very poor. She was a patient, kindly woman, who will be missed most by th ones who knew her best and her kindly presence was a benediction to her children.

She is survived by her three children Mrs. John Rau, Mrs. Ben Lewis, of Minneapolis, and Otto Braun, of Colby.

Their many Dorchester friends join in offering sympathy.
