HERMAN BRANDT (1870-1906)

The death of Herman Brandt, which was mentioned last week, makes two brothers who have been called to rest within three months. It was just twelve weeks ago Sunday that all that was mortal of Louis Brandt was laid to rest in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery.

Herman was taken last winter with pains in his stomach and about the first of April went to St. Joseph's Hospital at Chippewa Falls for medical treatment. His ailment, however, failed to be conquered until death came to his release Tuesday, Aug. 14, 1906. His brother-in-law, W. H. Rossman, brought the body home Thursday evening. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church Friday forenoon and was conducted by Revs. W. T. Hendren and H. Bruengger.

Mr. Brandt was born in Sheboygan county, Wis., Dec. 12, 1870. He came to Clark county with the rest of the family and until going to Chippewa Falls last spring has made his home in the town of Beaver, where he owned a small farm.

The doubly stricken relatives have the sympathy of all. Deceased was never married.

The Gleaner is requested to express appreciation and thanks of the bereaved relatives to the choir and all others who aided in the last sand rites in honor of their brother.
