EDWARD LOUIE GIESLER FUNERAL SERVICES HELD


Edward Louie Geisler, 94, who lived at the Thorp Care Center, died there on Nov. 19, 1975.


Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Rinka Funeral Home in Greenwood, with burial in the Cornell Cemetery. The Rev. Eugene Antrim, pastor of United Methodist Church, Greenwood, officiated.


Gary Schultz, accompanied by Mrs. Gary Schultz on the organ, sang In the Garden and Beyond the Sunset.


Pallbearers were Walter Decker, Arnold Miller, Harry Meinhardt, Norman Geisler, Elmer Krokson and Ervin Geisler.


The Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.


Edward Geisler was born Oct. 4, 1881 in the Town of Warner, Clark County and received his education at Braun Settlement school. He was married to the former Amelia Decker on June 3, 1908. She preceded him in death Dec. 26, 1974.


They farmed in the Town of Warner until 1944, then went to Cornell, where he worked for the paper mill and REA Electric Coop until 1946. From 1946 he lived in retirement and Cornell and Thorp.


He is survived on one nephew, Ervin Geisler, Greenwood, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Katherine Geisler, Owen.


He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers.

Geisler, Ed (4 October 1871 – 21 November 1975)

Funeral services were held, November 21 in Greenwood for Ed Geisler, 94, formerly of Greenwood, who died two days earlier at the Thorp Care Center.

Mr. Geisler was born October 4, 1871, in the Town of Warner, and received his education in the Braun Settlement School. He farmed in the Town of Warner until 1944, when he went to Cornell and worked for the paper mill and the rural electric Co-op. Since his retirement in 1946, he had been residing in Cornell and Thorp.

Mr. Geisler was married to Amelia Decker, June 3, 1908, in Greenwood. She died December 26, 1974. The only survivors are numerous nieces and nephews. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Eugene Antrim, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Cornell Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Erwin and Norman Geisler, Harry Meinhardt, Elmer Krokson, Arno Miller and Walter Decker. Gary Schultz, accompanied by his wife on the organ, sang several selections.
