Mrs. Gus Hahm visited Marshfield friends on Friday.

Sherman Davis was over from Chili on Tuesday.

Ed Sternitzky was a county seat visitor on Monday.

Roy Hales came home from Madison Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Gus Hagen visited Neillsvilel relatives the first of the week.

Ray Campbell of Neillsville was in town Tuesday.

Dr.a nd Mrs. Rath went to Eau Claire Tuesday evening.

W.F. Dahlke was at the county seat on business Tuesday.

Mr. Joe Buss transacted business at Neillsville Wednesday.

E.A. Beeckler was at Marshfield on business Wednesday.

Preaching services will be at 7:30 p.m. at Union church next Sunday.

A.J. Knorr is attending state fair at Milwaukee this week.

Mail Carrier B. Tycak is erecting a large barn on his farm west of town.

Theodore and Albert Riedel went to Camp Douglas Tuesday for a farewell visit with the Co. A. boys.

Mrs. Byrl Winn entertained The Circle and a few outside friends last Wednesday.

Loretta Armstrong of Chili is visiting relatives in the Willis Williams family Tuesday.

Paul Schwanebeck of the town of Sherwood was in on business Tuesday.

Mrs. Chas. Owen of the town of Loyal Came home from her visit at New Lisbon on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Agin went to Chili Saturday and visited Dr. and Mrs. Harry Housley.

Emil Prange was at Chili on business Friday.

Mrs. Mabel Welsh is caring for Mrs. Arnold Worchel and little son since Wednesday.

Mr. Hitsman and Miss Eastman of Rockford, Ill. are visiting relatives in the Bert Hales family since yesterday.

W.O. Baysinger, manager of the lumber yard at Loyal, took the train here Saturday for Menomonie to visit his family for a few days.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gehrke and Gustave Gleiter, all of Alma, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Tom Froeba of the town of Loyal since Tuesday.

Wm. L. Ives of Jefferson, after a few days visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Ives on Route 1, went home Tuesday.

Miss Gwendolyn Kihn, after a several weeks visit at T.D. Wage's and Mrs. Eva Canfield's, went home to Park Falls on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Canfield and baby Robert, with her brother Carl McClaflin, went to Neillsville and spent Thursday night with friends in that city.

Mr. and Mrs. ERenst McClaflin of Humbird came Saturday and remained until Tuesday visiting his brother Warren and family.

Carl Haut of Shawano, after a week's visit with Henry Grosnick and family in the town of York, went home Wednesday.

Frank Downer went to Marshfield Friday and brought his wife home from the hospital there. Mrs. Downer is convalescing nicely since her recent operation.

Mrs. Gus Deutsch and little daughters Nancy and Beatrice came over from Neillsville Saturday morning and made a several days visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Goebel.

Geo. Beaver was a county seat visitor on Monday.

Miss Blanche Krause is visiting her mother Mrs. Joe Krause at the Eau Claire Hospital.

The Crandall Orchestra will give a big dance here at the opera house tomorrow, Saturday night. Everybody is welcome.

Rev. W.D. and Mrs. Wells of Kendall are here since yesterday visiting his sister, Mrs. A.S. Agin and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. M. Snyder and daughter Flora of Richland Center are visiting the Grant Snyder, John and Fred Pizer families on route 1, since yesterday.

Lloyd Catey of North Manchester, Ind. Visited at E.A. Beeckler's several days this week and left yesterday for the Sask. District of Canada.

Fred Tompkins of Rice Lake, enroute home from Chicago, stopped off here yesterday for a visit with dad and mother.

A killing frost visited this section of the country Sunday night and corn, beans, tomatoes and cucumbers were "cooked" before midnight that night.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jaeckel of Ft. Atkinson spent several days of last week visitng at Henry Dietrich's in town of Lynn. They went went to Neillsville Saturday to visit her sister Mrs. Wm. Berger of that place. They expect to leave yet this week for Watertown on a visit to relatives, accompanied by Mrs. Dietrich.

Leonard Cole went to Ogdensburg last Friday to join his wife in a visit with her folks there, and accompany her home early this week. However, he found her sick with pleurisy and unable to come with him last Tuesday. Mrs. Cole is expected home the latter part of this week.

Mrs. Paul Garbush and daughter Anita went to Eau Claire where Anita underwent an operation for adenoids and had her tonsils removed. They are expected home tomorrow, accompanied by Mr. Garbush, who has been a patient there the past two weeks.

Mrs. Philip T. Gleason, formerly Miss Dollie Pierrelee, left for Ashland and Mellen Wednesday, where she will visit her brothers victor and Eugene before joining her husband, Lieut. Philip T. Gleason, who is an instructor at Camp Bownie at Ft. Worth, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kidd of Los Angeles, Calif., after a summer's visit with relatives in Dakota, came on here to his old home town, last Saturday, and before they had been here two hours, Lee had hired out to go to work on the new school building on Monday, and had bought furniture, rented a house and moved into it, having decided to locate in this good village, among the friends of old school days, who cordially welcome him back.

Miss Nellie Gleason, one of the teachers, spent this weekend with relatives in Stevens Point.

Justin Pfeifer went to Manitowoc Saturday morning on a visit to a daughter residing there.

Rev. Wilson Mallory went to Stevens Point and Rudolph Saturday on a weekend business trip.

J.W. Krueger and son, after a visit at Otto Yordi's, went home to Marion on Saturday.

Mrs. Newton Toptine and daughter Hildegrade are visiting at George Toptine's on Route 4 since Saturday.

Samuel Buchanan of Iowa is here since Tuesday visiting his brother Charles.

Ernest Dixon autoed to La Crosse with a Ford truck Monday and returned by rail the next day.

Mrs. Peter Stallman went to Camp Douglas Wednesday on a visit to her son Arthur and his family.

Miss Daphne Beeckler is teaching in the Aug. Riedel District in the town of Grant since Monday.

Miss Birdine Kihn is teaching in the Frasier District, town of Lynn, since Monday.

Harry Cole came up from Camp Douglas and after a visit to home folks, left on the return trip Saturday.

Mrs. Gerzemehle is visiting relatives in the Arnold Drescher family since Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Anderson of the town of Sherwood were village shoppers Tuesday.

Miss Esther True, after a week's visit at E.A. Beeckler's, went home to Hatfield on Saturday.

Miss Gertrude Holmes left for Hines, Wis. Monday morning to resume her school teaching duties.

The Misses Clara Jahr and Bertha Barth went to Eau Claire Wednesday on a short visit to friends.

Walter Krause and the John Bladl family autoed to Chili and attended church on Sunday.

Miss Elsie Smith of the town of Lynn and Miss Clara Marg of the town of Fremont took Saturday's noon train here on a visit to friends at Camp Douglas.

The Misses Elda Bashford and Gretchen Palmatier of Loyal and Colby are teaching in the Garbush District, town of York since Monday.

James Scoles and daughter Miss Jesse are moving to Neillsville and Mr. Scoles was house hunting in that city again Wednesday.

Chester Finnigan and Miss Lena Riedel left by auto last week Friday for Oshkosh and other state points, on a visit to relatives. They expect to be absent about ten days.

Arthur Viergutz went to Wausau Monday on a combination business and pleasure trip and returned yesterday.

Lynn Knorr came home from Milwaukee last week Thursday and visited home folk until Tuesday, when he returned to his work there.

Corp Carl Rabenstein came up from Camp Douglas and made a final week and visit with relatives and best girl before his company left for Waco, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Gus Hahm autoed to Stevens Point with Mrs. Kiefferlee of Fond du Lac and Mrs. E.W. Johnson of the Point, who were here visiting them, a week ago Sunday.

Dr. and Mrs. H.L. Rose and daughter Dorothea autoed to Milwaukee last Friday for a pleasure trip, visit to relatives and to see the state fair.

Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Lawton of Route 1 vacated the Carl Berg farm and moved to their recently purchased farm home in Chippewa County, Monday.

Mrs. Geo. Toptine and daughter Miss Dora went to Viola Tuesday on a visit to relatives and especially to see a brother of the former's, one Geo. Hoke of California, who is there on a visit.

P.J. Kemmeter went to Milwaukee Tuesday night on a week's combination business and pleasure trip.

Merle Sweet is here from Green County and visiting at Chili since yesterday.

Mrs. P.J. Kemmeter returned from her millinery buying trip at Chicago and visit at Milwaukee, yesterday morning.

Mrs. Dora Garbush returned home last Sunday from a week's stay with her son Paul at the Eau Claire hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. John J. Edens of Edgar came down Saturday and made an over Sunday visit to their son W.H. Edens and family.

Mrs. Paul Garbush went to eau Claire Saturday on a several days visit to her husband, who is a patient at the hospital there.

Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Christenson of Redville were with Mrs. Albert Degener of Chili, guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Hughes on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stockwell and baby Archie of the town of Pine Valley visited the Baers last Friday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Behn of Eagle River arrived here Tuesday on a visit to relatives in the Wm. Bartz home.

Mrs. John Patno and daughter Mrs. Norman Rowe of Route 1 visited Neillsville friends Tuesday and on their return that evening looked up their relatives in the Lee Kidd home.

The Misses Hulda and Anita Schoengarth did shopping at Neillsville Tuesday and went to Eau Claire next day where Miss Anita is since pursuing her studies.

Max Schuelke and his cousin Alfred Schuelke, both of Route 3 went to Milwaukee Monday morning to visit relatives and see the state fair. Alfred will also visit relatives at Cobb before returning home.

Mr. and Mrs. Willis Williams, their son Roy and Mrs. Elizabeth Fuller autoed to Neillsville Monday and attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Will Meddaugh of Dorchester, buried there that day.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Doughty of Rudolph, accompanied by Oscar Doughty of Almond, autoed up last Saturday in response to news of the death of Mrs. Will Meddaugh of Dorchester, at Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Rose of this village, accompanied by Miss Cleo Daughhetee of Colby, went to Camp Douglas Wednesday on a farewell visit to Harry and Harold Rose and others of Co. A. boys in the 3rd Regiment before they left camp for Waco, Texas.
