Threshing machine is in our neighborhood this week.

Charley Ley and Willie Eibergen autoed to Marshfield Sunday and brought Elsie Bodendorfer to her home. Elsie is still very weak and not able to get around much.

Mr. and Mrs. Wellie Davis took in the fair at Neillsville Thursday.

Frank Dankemyer and Mr. Miller autoed down from Colby Sunday to visit Fred and August Dankemyer.

Those that took in the dance at Spokeville Saturday night were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Christenson, Mr. and Mrs. Wellie Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dankemyer.

Fred and Ernest Hankey and families visited at August Dankemyer's Sunday.

Conrad Henninger helped Fred Dankemyer cut corn a few days this week.

Tony Hornick Jr. received a letter from his cousin Michael Sporrer of Menomonie who received orders to report to the War Department at Washington to accept a position as stenographer. He passed the civil service examination at Marquette and will receive a salary of $1,000 per annum at outset. He left for the capital at once.

Miss Amelia Krause and Carl Rabenstein visited at Freeman Dankemyer's Sunday.

School started in District No. 4 Monday. Ora Davis is the teacher.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon davis and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Davis autoed to Neillsville Tuesday. Gordon returned the same day. Sherman stayed and took in the fair until Thursday.

Wanda Dankemyer, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Dankemyer, had two fingers from her right hand taken off at the first joint when they came in contact with the cog wheels of a spreader.
