----- Davel, Joyce (26 MAY 1962)

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church was the scene of the wedding Saturday, May 26, 1962, of Marcella Joyce Davel and Sylvester Lawrence Bauer, both of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.). Rev. Norbert E. King officiated at the 10:30 ceremony before an altar decorated with bouquets of large mums and gladiolas. The Nuptial High Mass was sung by the church choir.

Parents of the bride and groom are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Davel and Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Bauer.

The bride, who was presented in marriage by her father, wore a white street length gown of lace over taffeta, styled with a scalloped Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins. Her fingertip veil was caught to a crown of crystals and pearls and she carried a cascade of American beauty roses and stephanotis.

The bride chose her sister, Mrs. Allen Wehrman, to be her matron of honor. She wore a yellow ballerina length frock and held sweetheart yellow roses and yellow tinted carnations. As bridesmaids were: Mrs. Jerome Davel and Mrs. Hank Trampbush of Loyal. They wore blue and pink ballerina dresses respectively, and carried sweetheart roses and blue and pink tinted carnations.

Best man was Allen Wehrman, and groomsmen were Hank Trampbush, a brother-in-law of the groom, and Jerome Davel, a brother of the bride. Melvin Klimmer of Loyal and Daniel Davel, the bride’s brother, were ushers.

A dinner was served at the church dining hall and a reception and supper were held at the bride’s parents home. The newlyweds are both graduates of Loyal High School. They will make their home in Loyal where he is employed at Zupanc Motors
