Mr. Jim Wilcox is home from Taconite, Minn. for a short visit with relatives here and at Tioga.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lucius Allen and baby Iris visited at Chas. Lindow’s Sunday afternoon.

 

Clarence Wilcox and family, Waite Wilcox and wife, John Davis and wife visited at Morris Dickinson’s last Sunday.

 

Mr. Paul Bealer visited Mrs. Alice Repno, Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. August Foemmel and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lindow called at the L. Schilling home on Sunday.

 

Snow and then some this winter.

 

Alvie Dow is up at Chippewa Falls.

 

A surprise was held at the Lon Blakely home last Saturday night as they are soon to move on their now place south of Lynn.  Sorry to see the old neighbors go.  A brother of Sam Green’s from Illinois is to move onto Blakeley’s place soon.

Dan Brooks lost one of his best horses Saturday night.

 

Clark Wilcox and Gerald Davis left Saturday for Tioga to visit a few days.  Jim Wilcox will join Gerald Davis there and both go to Taconite, Minn., where Jim has worked the past year.  Clark will come back Monday to Chili.

 

The Larkins Club met with Mrs. John Davis Feb. 22nd for dinner and sewed carpet rags.  A good time was had besides lots of rags sewed.  March 22 they meet with Mrs. Fred Parmalee.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Daws Angel, Mrs. Emma Oatman, Mr. and Mrs. John Davis visited at Lon Blakeley’s Sunday afternoon.

 

Mrs. Wayland Phillips joined her husband at Gurney, Wis. last week after her visit home.

 

Mr. Schmoll, who married Emma Behling lived at Edgar and Saturday in some way their house burned and their 3-year-old child was burned to death.  The ashes were brought out Sunday for burial.

 

Listen! "Hans, The Chalk Talker" will chalk and talk at the Free Temperance program given by the Gideons of the Evangelical Sunday school, Tuesday evening, March 6th, at the M.W.A. Hall, Chili, Wis.  Program will begin at 8 o’clock, consisting of male quartet, rounds, short talks, and the chalk talk by Marcus Hansen, the worthwhile entertainer.  Everybody is invited to come and enjoy a reat treat.  All ladies interest in the temperance cause are request to meet a the hall at 7 o’clock p.m. to organize a local W.C.T.U.  A lady representing this great organization with be present.

 

The Woodmen are getting up a basket social for a sick neighbor, Will Tutcher, March 7th, at the M.W.A. Hall in Chili.  The money is to help pay hospital bills.
