Miss Joanne C. Slusark became the bride of Leonard N. Ciolkosz on Sunday, July 17, 1960, at St. Mary’s of Gostyn Catholic Church in Downers Grove, Ill.  Rev. Edwin J. Joyce performed the double ring ceremony at 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

 

Parents of the couple are Mrs. Mary Johansen of Downers Grove, Ill. and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ciolkosz of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

The bride, given in marriage by her brother-in-law Raymond Jaskowiak, wore a chapel length gown of white nylon sheer over net.  A pearl crown held her silk fingertip scalloped veil.  Her colonial bouquet consisted of white roses and stephanotis.

 

Miss Judy Giorgio was the maid of honor, friend of the bride of Downers Grove, Ill.  Bridesmaids were Bernadette Ciolkosz, sister of the groom of Thorp, Wis. and Judy Derks of Boyd, Wis., friend of the groom.  Their ballerina length gowns were of blue organza over taffeta styled with scooped neckline and short sleeves.  They carried bouquets of yellow miniature roses and each wore a pearl chain, gift of the bride.  May Ann Johansen of Downers Grove, Ill., was her sister’s junior bridesmaid.  Joyce Jaskowiak of Bellwood, Ill. was flower girl, niece of the bride.  Raymond Ciolkosz of Thorp, Wis., was ring bearer, nephew of the groom.  Mitch Ciolkosz of Berwyn, Ill. was his brother’s best man.  Ushers were Eddie Ciolkosz of Thorp, Wis., brother of the groom, and Bob Jakubowicz of Boyd, Wis., friend of the groom.

 

The bride’s mother wore a light mint nylon dress with white accessories and a corsage of white carnations.

 

The groom’s mother wore a powder blue lace dress, white accessories with a corsage of white carnations.

 

A dinner reception was held for 150 guests at Grandy’s Hall in Cicero, Ill.  After the wedding the couple took a trip to New York and are now residing in Berwyn, Ill.  Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ciolkosz, son Eddie and daughter Bernadette, Erwin Ciolkosz and son Raymond of Thorp, Bob Jakubowicz and Julie Derks of Boyd and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ciolkosz of Withee.
