Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sternitzky and daughter Louvilla visited their daughter Mrs. Aug. Arndt in Neillsville on Wednesday.  Mr. and Mrs. Sternitzky returned the next day.  Miss Louvilla remained until Friday and returned home that afternoon.

 

Walter Riedel went to Milwaukee Saturday to attend the funeral of his cousin Dalie Riedel, a daughter of Daniel Riedel who died very suddenly.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schaefer and family and Mrs. Jim Davidson of Fremont visited the Wm. Sternitzky family Sunday.

 

Carl Williams had the misfortune to slip and sprain his ankle.  It is in such a swollen condition he is unable to be out and has been confined to his bed several days.

 

Wm. Sternitzky transacted business at Neillsville Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gus Grassman of Hultler visited the Fred Grassman family and Grandma Grassman for several days and returned home on Monday.

 

Miss Rose Viergutz has taken up the art of dressmaking as an apprentice with Mrs. Dick Welsh at Neillsville.

 

Miss Louvilla Sternitzky entertained the J.H. Club Saturday afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ure were obliged to move out of the upstairs rooms of the store building and have taken up rooms with Mr. and Mrs. John Breseman for the present.

 

There is another man in this vicinity who lost his Charley Chaplin last week, but he did not do so on account of his best girl, he did it to surprise his wife.  We won’t mention any names and see if you know him when you meet him.

 

Last Thursday night during the high winds the people of Lindsey had the misfortune to burn up a large refrigerator car partly loaded with potatoes.  They had a small stove in the car and it is not known how it happened.  The fire was discovered about 4 o’clock and was so far advanced that there was no chance to save the car.

 

Miss Esther Grassman has finished her course in dressmaking and is at home now.

 

Mrs. Tom Bill left this week for her home in Canada.

 

Miss Mabel Washburn and Gladys Ure were over from Neillsville to spend Saturday and Sunday at home.

 

Paul Fulz of Marshfield bought the Hiles store building and will start with a full line of store goods the first of April.  At present Mr. Fulz will repair the sore and get things in shape for business.  Mr. and Mrs. John Linehardt moved here from Marshfield and will assist him with his work.

 

Dick Gotter of Rozellville was seen in town Monday.  Dick has decided to stay at Rozellville next year.  We understand he has sold his house here to Wm. Yorkston, who will use if for his hired man to live in.

 

Tim McInnis of Chili will move here and work for Wm. Yorkston this summer.
