Burzynski, Joan J. (21 MAY 1960)

Blue and white carnations and candelabra’s decorated the altar of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp on Saturday, May 21, 1960 when Miss Joan Julia Burzynski became the bride of Harold Ernest Doege.  Rev. Robert Olson performed the two o’clock double ring ceremony.  Sarah Schauer sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "The Wedding Prayer," accompanied by Jan Boardman.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley L. Burzynski, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Doege, Thorp.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length bridal gown of imported Chantilly lace over bouquet taffeta with a scalloped Sabrina neckline trimmed with gleaming sequins and seed pearls.  The traditional long tapered lace sleeves pointed up the elongated bodice.  Lace panels at the side and rows of gossamer sheer tulle edge in hand clipped Chantilly lace graced the front and back of the bouffant skirt.  A crown of sequins and pearls held her veil of imported French silk illusion.  Her bouquet consisted of red and white roses and lilies of the valley.

Miss Carolyn Doege, sister of the groom, was maid of honor and Miss Shari Burzynski, sister of the bride, and Miss Carol Doege, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids.  The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore identical styled powder blue ballerina length gowns of lace over sway gay taffeta.  Scoop necklines and short sleeves highlighted the fitted Basque with an accentidated waistline of sateen bow detail.  The fashionably gored skirts held a graceful effect.  Matching princes crown with pearl trim held the blush veils and each carried bouquets of blue and white carnations.

The groom was attended by Leroy Burzynski, brother of the bride, Eugene Hodowanic and George Pagel.  Ushers were Embert Reetz and Art Doege.

A dinner from 4 - 8 p.m. was held at the American legion Hall for 400 guests.

The mother of the bride attended her daughter’s wedding wearing a beige lace dress with beige and white accessories.  The groom’s mother wore a blue lace dress with white accessories and each wore a corsage of red roses.

The bride, inspector for Motorola, Inc. and the groom an assemblyman for Motorola, Inc., will make their home at 3050 Gustave St., Franklin Park, Ill.
