York Center (29 September 1911)

 

Rev. E. R. Kildow has been sent back to preach on the Loyal and York charge.

 

A covered wagon was seen on our streets one day last week. They came from Dakota and were on their way to Dorchester. They report everything dried up there and no crops at all.

 

Calvin Scoles delivered corner stones for the town last Saturday.

 

Wednesday while working on Mr. Curtis’ silo quite an accident occurred. The staging broke, letting Wm. Vandeberg and Ferd Curtis fall to the ground.  Will was not seriously hurt, but Ferd was quite badly hurt. He was taken to the Marshfield Hospital where he has since undergone a successful operation for a fractured skull.


Abe Vandeberg delivered two cows to Granton Tuesday morning.

 

Wm. Lawrence and daughter Naomi left a week ago Monday or Crystal Lake, Minn., to visit Mrs. Olive Campbell who is in the hospital at that place.

 

The bridge in front of Allie Turner’s was completed Monday.

 

Abie Turner is building a house for Merle Benedict.

 

Little Myron Turner had convulsions Friday night.

 

Roy Lyons, the Granton pickle man spent Sunday and Monday at the home of Wella Beecher.

 

Horace Lawrence delivered a load of hogs to Martin Lastofka’s at Granton, Tuesday.
