Bertz, Constance (21 June 1958)

When Miss Constance Catherine Bertz approached the altar of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, for her marriage to David Emmet Cooper, she was escorted by her brother, John R. Bertz of Neillsville, who was to give her in marriage.

Her chapel length gown was of nylon organza over taffeta and her all silk illusion fingertip veil was caught to a crown of seed pearls. She carried a cascade arrangement of white orchids surrounded by yellow tea roses and white stephanotis.

The Rev. Edward J. Bertz, brother of the bride, officiated at the Nuptial Mass for the marriage of the daughter of Mrs. Edward Bertz, Loyal, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Cooper of Clintonville.

The bride chose for her attendants her three sisters, Mary Ellen Bertz for her maid of honor, and Carole Bertz and Mrs. Philip St. Onge, both of Milwaukee, for her bridesmaids. Their identical ensembles were ballerina length gowns of Maize organza, with bouffant skirts. Their flowers were cascade bouquets of yellow and white daisy mums with sprays of ivy.

Carole Dana, Madison, was best man and Daniel cooper, Clintonville, brother of the groom and Paul Bertz, St. Paul, brother of the bride, were groomsmen.

St. Anthony’s Church Choir provided the music.

For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Bertz chose a sky-blue dress with white accessories and the groom’s mother wore navy blue with pink accessories.

The ceremony was followed immediately by a dinner and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother. The bride is a graduate of Mount Mary College, Milwaukee, and is an occupational Therapist at Winnebago State Hospital. The groom attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and is employed by the Kimberly-Clark Corp. in Neenah.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Cooper will live at 1729 N. Shorewood Drive, Oshkosh.
