 Vajgrt, Frank (05 Nov 1909- 21 Nov 1959)

Frank Vajgrt, 50 died of a coronary heart attack Saturday forenoon while deer hunting in Jackson County.

Vajgrt was found dead Saturday morning, lying on a deer he had pulled out of the woods near Merrillan.  Authorities say he had apparently suffered a heart attack.

Hunting with three companions, he had dressed the deer and dragged it half a mile to a station wagon parked in the pasture of the Harry Tolkan farm.  His body was discovered when the other hunters returned there for lunch.

Dr. Richard Holder of the Krohn Clinic at Black River Falls went to the scene along with Guy Hobart, Jackson County traffic officer.

He was born at Crete, Nebraska, November 5, 1909.  He received his education in Nebraska.  November 30, 1935 he was married to Marie Fench at Washington, Kansas.  They lived in Nebraska and in 1937 moved to Wisconsin.  Seven years ago the family moved from Port Washington to Loyal, where he engaged in farming.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Julie Anne, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Warren (Mary) Farrell, Mrs. Grant (Libbie) Baker and Mrs. Vlasta Richtarik, all of California; and one sister, Mrs. Lillian Kohel of Dorchester, Neb.; and his mother Mrs. Julia Vajgrt of Crete, Neb.  One sister preceded him in death.

The body which had reposed in state at the Myre Funeral Home since Monday forenoon, was taken to the Methodist Church at noon on Tuesday and funeral services were held there at 2 p.m.  The Rev. Alfred Attwood was officiating clergyman.  Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.
