The Loyal Past Matrons’ Society met Thursday with Mrs. O.W. Trindal.  Fourteen members were present, among them Mrs. Roy Pengelly of Marshfield.  Games were played and lunch served.  The next meeting will be with Mrs. W.W. Trindal, November 4.

Kim Rice was a weekend guest of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Trindal, while his parents, Dr. and Mrs. K.W. Rice of Marshfield, attended the football game in Green Bay and visited at the home of Mrs. Rice’s sister, Mrs. Rod MacSwain.

Mr. and Mrs. Ken Swift of Aurora, Illinois, and Mrs. Harry Voss, of Horicon, were weekend guests of Mrs. William Loppnow and son Karl.

Jens Anderson of Owen visited Thursday with Art Lautenbach.

Mrs. Amelia Wolter was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Lacey Philpott the past weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cowles and daughter, Mary Beth returned home last week Tuesday from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Becker in Harvey, Illinois.  While away they attended the annual convention of the National Stationers and Office Equipment Association in Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. Julius Ehlert, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pachal, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pachal and family, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Pachal of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Goutcher of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lavine and family of Neillsville came to remind Mr. and Mrs. Duane Pachal of their fifth wedding anniversary Friday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nowak visited Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Louie Pachal.

Mrs. Leah Gohler and son Harold of Sparta and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lydiksen of Riplinger were dinner guests at the Peter Lydiksen home Sunday.

Mr. Bertha Pickruhn and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lydiksen visited with Mrs. Mary Nielsen Tuesday at her home in Spencer.

A card party was held at the Dan Ellison home Sunday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Charley Ellison of Neosho.  Those present were Mr. and Mrs. art Wolfe and Marilyn of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Young, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Catlin, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brecker, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Schmidt and Kenny, Mrs. Elsie Litka, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Dobbe, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Stumpner, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Young, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ertl, Mrs. Belle Wehling and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thomas.

Recent visitors at the Ray Ertl home were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nork of Redfield, South Dakota, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Ellison of Neosho and Albert Wehling of Spencer.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nysted, accompanied by Mrs. Frank Pieper, attended a Lutheran Welfare Workshop meeting in Wausau Monday in Immanuel Lutheran Church.  While in Wausau they also visited Mrs. James Ursin and Mrs. Burt Finet.

Mrs. Laura Stayton and daughters, Mrs. Marge Pickett and Nancy Stayton of Nekoosa were weekend guest of Mrs. Ann Catlin.

Mr. and Mrs. Dick Catlin and daughter, Shelly, Eau Claire, visited the past weekend with Mrs. Catlin’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Lautenbach and at the home of his mother Mrs. Ann Catlin and also attended the Rasmussen-Denk wedding in Greenwood, Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pieper and Mary attended the Silver Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Pieper in Reedsburg, Sunday.

Carl Colby entered St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield for a physical examination Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ewert and sons of Crystal Lake, Illinois visited over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Prior.

The Loyal Garden Club will meet with Mrs. Matt Merlak Wednesday evening, October 21.  Members are asked to bring appropriate verses for the new year book.  Suggestions are also wanted for the programs, etc. for the new year.
