Steinhilber, Lester ‘Steinie’ (30 November 1909 - 9 October 1965)

 

Funeral services for Lester (Steinie) Steinhilber, 55, of Rt. 1 Neillsville were held Tuesday afternoon from a funeral home in Oshkosh. Mr. Steinhilber died Saturday in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Burial was made in Oshkosh.

 

Steinie was born November 30, 1909, in Oshkosh, where he attended schools.  He was a member of the Elks Club and the Clark County Tavern keepers’ league.  He had been in the tavern and supper club business in the Neillsville area for the last 28 years.  He was long the owner of Steinie’s Club 10, east of Neillsville on Hwy 10, which he was operating with his wife at the time of his death.

 

On May 25, 1937, he was married to the former Lucy Raab of Oshkosh, in Neillsville.  Steinhilber was an ardent hunter and outdoors enthusiast.

 

Steinhilber is survived by his wife; a son, Lee, of Wisconsin Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Cummings of Oshkosh; his mother, Mrs. Clara Steinhilber; three brothers, Arthur, George, and Elmer Steinhilber, all of Oshkosh; and five grandchildren.
