O’Konski, Harry V. (2 FEB 1890 - 15 NOV 1963)

 

A Requiem Mass was said Tuesday morning at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, for Harry V. O’Konski, rural Owen.  Father H.L. Crubel read the final rites with burial being made at St. Hedwig’s Cemetery at Thorp.

 

Serving as pallbearers were Joseph Tobola, Frank and John Makovec, Charles and Mike Kovatch, and Tom Jablonic.

 

Harry O’Konski was 73 years, 9 months and 13 days of age when he passed away, suffering from complications of old age, at St. Joseph’s on Friday, the 15th of November, 1963.

 

The deceased was born Feb. 2, 1890, in Poland.  He and the former Della Zawazk exchanged the holy vows of matrimony Oct. 15, 1910, in a ceremony held in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at Thorp.  The couple resided on a farm near Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) until 1943, when they moved to their present home in the Town of Green Grove.  A year ago they enjoyed the observance of their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

 

His death is mourned by his wife; three sons, Eddie O’Konski, Waukegan, Ill., Maurice O’Konski, Chicago, Ill., and Donald O’Konski, rural Owen; Mrs. W.R. (Viola) Fraley and Mary Ann O’Konski, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Jack (Clel?) Worden, West Covins, Calif., and Mrs. Leo (Amy) Stewart, Withee, and 12 grandchildren.
