Exchanging marriage promises before the Rev. Ed Cyz in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin Saturday, Oct. 19, 1963, were Miss  Nancy Jean Bower, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bower, route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Paul Eugene Niznik Jr., Withee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Niznik Sr., route 2, Withee.

 

The church organist and choir provided appropriate nuptial selections.

 

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was seen in a full length gown of Chantilly lace fashioned with a Sabrina neckline, fitted Basque bodice and a skirt which featured cascades of Chantilly lace over taffeta, each tier adorned with pearlized sequins.  A chapel train completed the gown.

 

The bouffant bridal veil with a double jeweled and pearled crown was worn by the bride, who carried a cascade bouquet of red tea roses and white feathered carnations with lily of the valley.

 

Asked to be bridal aides were Mrs. August Schreiber, Gillett, the matron of honor; Miss Sandra Wenzel, Withee, and Miss Sharon Kollmansberger, Greenwood, the bridesmaid’ and Diane Bower, miniature bride.

 

The adult attendants wore green brocade street length sheaths with full overskirts and jeweled high crowned veils to match their ensembles.  Each carried a cascade of yellow and white chrysanthemums.

 

The miniature bride wore a white dress and had flowers and veil to match the bride’s.

 

The groom’s attendants were August Schreiber, Gillett, best man; Dale and Galen Bower, both of Owen, groomsmen.  Allen Bower, Milwaukee, and Terry Wenzel, Withee, were ushers; and Robert Vater, Owen, miniature groom.

 

The dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents and the reception and supper were held from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Owen, where the wedding dance was held from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

 

Out of town wedding guests came from Thorp, Greenwood, Ladysmith, Milwaukee, Chicago, Lublin, Withee, Abbotsford, Colby, Gillett, Merrill and Loyal, besides the surrounding area.

 

The bride is a May 1963 graduate of Owen-Withee Senior High School  Her husband, who attended the same high school is a technician for Anson and Gilkey Woodworking in Merrill, where the newlyweds are living at 203 N. Prospect.
