Neillsville Area Locals (26 August 1965)

 

Mrs. David Luedtke of Fargo, N.D. has written her grandmother, Mrs. Edwin Evanson, informing her of winnings at the Red River Valley Fair, where her horse, "Sumups," was named top quarter-horse.  Mr. and Mrs. Luedtke have 40 registered Appaloosa, Palomino, Tennessee walker and Quarter horses on their ranch.  Mrs. Luedtke is the daughter of Mrs. Stanley Evanson of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and the late Stanley Evanson.  She has visited in Neillsville on several occasions.

 

Mrs. Robert Lahn of New Berlin is spending several days at the cottage of her parents, Drs. Milton and Sarah Rosekrans, on Lake Arbutus at Hatfield.

 

Jane and Susan Mengel of West Salem recently spent five days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mengel.  Ervin Mengel of Black River Falls spent at week with his parents.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Thone Karnitz entertained a group of friends and relatives one day last week at their farm home. Guests included Mrs. Guy Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Franz, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Horn and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Humke and family, all of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Horn of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Smetana and family of Black River Falls; and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Karnitz and family of Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Karnitz and family, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thone Karnitz, visited Sunday at the Ed and Robert Karnitz homes in Barron.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gurtler and family returned Saturday evening after spending a week’s vacation at a cabin near Cable.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ufling and two children of Wauconda, Ill., are spending several days with Mrs. Grace Giloy.

 

Mrs. Grace Giloy retuned home Monday from happy Camp, Cal., where she spent a month with her daughter, Mrs. Dan Bryan, and family. She was met in Minneapolis by the Ufling family of Wauconda, Ill.
