Ignatz Fleischman Dies Wednesday, May 7

 

Ignatz Fleischman, 83, died Wednesday night, May 7, 1941 at the home of his son, Frank, one and a half miles northeast of Spencer, following a several months illness due to old age complications.  A requiem high mass was read Saturday morning at 9 o’clock at Christ the King Catholic church, the Rev. Joseph Graf officiating.  Burial took place in the Bakerville cemetery.

 

Mr. Fleischman was born September 20, 1857, in Bohemia and was educated and married there.  In 1887 the Fleischmans came to this country, settling in Oshkosh.  Forty-two years ago they came to the town of Richfield to farm, and two years ago Mr. Fleischman came to Spencer.  Mrs. Fleischman died seven years ago.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Annie) Friedl, Phillips, and Mrs. Joseph (Ida) Bath, Wauwatosa; three sons, Joseph of Colby; William of the town of Richfield and Frank of Spencer; 21 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.  A general rosary service was held at the Fleischman home Friday evening at 8:30 o’clock.
