UNITY COUPLE CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING DATE

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Joseph Mattson, who have been residents of the Unity vicinity since 1906, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a family reunion at their farm home in the town of Unity, Clark county, on Dec. 20.  Mr. Mattson who was born in Lappfjord, Finland, Sept. 22, 1868, came to this country in 1872 and settled in Calumet, Mich., where he worked in the copper mines.  Mrs. Mattson, the former Anna Caroline Peterson, was born in Tronjham, Norway, Jan. 20, 1868.  They were married in Houghton, Mich., Dec. 20, 1890, and six years later moved to Wisconsin, when they purchased the same farm in the town of Unity on which they still reside.

To Mr. and Mrs. Mattson eight children were born, four boys and four girls, six of whom are still living, Mrs. William Kelty, Unity; Mrs. Ferdinand Ewald, Edward Mattson and Mrs. John Victorson, Detroit Mich., Mrs. Emil Johnson, Spencer, and Albert Mattson, who resides upon the old farm home.  On account of the storm and inability of the Detroit children to get here the celebration was held on Sunday when many of their friends and the children here were with them through the day.
