Potocnik, Sally (Marriage - 5 June 1965)

Miss Sally Potocnik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Potocnik of Owen, and Jeffry Ewert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Ewert of Unity, exchanged marriage vows Saturday in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Withee. The 4 p.m. double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. L. A. Urman.

Miss Potocnik wore a street length gown of lace and silk organza, styled with a fully flared skirt, accented by a draped cummerbund. The fitted Basque bodice featured a bateau neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. A face veil was attached to an organza rosette headpiece.  She carried a bridal bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Her matron-of-honor was Mrs. Dale Amacher of Chicago, Ill. Miss Judy Miller of Withee was her bridesmaid.  The attendants wore street length Sata peau dresses, styled with semi-full skirts. Sweetheart necklines and cap sleeves complimented the fitted bodices. Their face veils were held by small floral headpieces. They carried baskets of pink and white chrysanthemums.  The matron-of-honor’s dress was in pastel green; and the bridesmaid’s, a soft pink.

Donald Mataczynski of Conrath was best man.  Groomsman was Richard Walloch of Stevens Point. Ushers were Dale Amacher of Chicago, and Jerry Timm of New Mexico.

The new Mrs. Ewert is a 1965 graduate of Owen-Withee High school.  Mr. Ewert, a 1962 graduated of Colby High School, was graduated this spring from the Wausau Technical Institute.

Mr. and Mrs. Ewert are residing in Rockford, Ill., where the groom has employment.

People from away attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Timm of New Mexico; Mrs. Martha Griffin of Los Angeles, Cal.; Rod Ewert of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Makinens of Bruce Crossing, Mich.; and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Laakso of Portage.
