Reigel, Stephen ( 1955-13 Feb 2012)

With the passing of Steve Reigel on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, we are saddened by the loss of a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. After a valiant fight against cancer, Steve died peacefully at his home ner Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Stephen Harland Reigel was born in 1955 in Madison, to Harland and Delores Reigel. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1973. After graduating from UW-Stout, Menomonie, in 1977, he moved to California and began his career as a mechanical designer. For the past 12 years, he had been employed as an engineer by B&R Mold, Simi Valley, Calif. Through a long career in the investment casting industry, he became well known for his innovative designs. In 1982, Steve married Lorraine Sebold of Plymouth, Minn. In July 2011, they celebrated 29 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed many adventures hiking, sking, and boating in the mountains and lakes of the west. A shared dream was realized when they moved to scenic Idaho to enjoy nature and the many beautiful lakes of the area. He and Lorraine enjoyed getting to know the pristine lakes of northern Idaho aboard their pilothouse-style boat, including their home waters of Lake Pend Oreille.

Steve will be remembered for his wry sense of humor, many outdoor interests, keen and inventive mind, love of motorcycles, and independent way of thinking and living his life. While Steve wished for many more tears, his lasting sentiment was one of "no regrets."

Steve will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Lorraine, Athol, Idaho; his parents, Harland and Delores Reigel, Marshfield; three sisters Sally (Gerald) Sommer, Eldersberg, Md., Nancy (Duaine) Berhow, Cannon Falls, Minn., and Patricia (Gordon) Fisher, McGregor, Minn.; a brother, Daniel (Leslie) Reigel, Marshfield; and nieces, nephews, and friends.

A remembrance and celebration of Steve’s life will be held in Idaho in July.
