Grottke, Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Golden - 24 March 1965)

 

It seems that Granton and Lynn both claimed this couple, so I will give you both reports;

 

Granton - Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grottke celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday beginning with a special anniversary prayer by the Rev. F. C. Benecke in Zion Lutheran Church.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Grottke have been members of the church since early youth.

 

An anniversary dinner was served in the church dining hall by women of the church for members of the immediate family.  An open house was held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the church.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Grottke are the parents of five children, who, with their families, were present for the occasion.  They are: Louis, who operates the home farm, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Engelsman of Maywood, Ill., Mrs. John (Ruth) Dombro of Wheaton, Ill., Mrs. Chap Paulson of Neillsville, and Mrs. Gertrude Wilson of Chicago, Ill.

 

Lynn - Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grottke who were married at Zion Lutheran Church at Granton, by the Rev. Martin Hasz, March 24, 1915, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday with a prayer by the Rev. F. C. Benecke at the church service.

 

An anniversary dinner was served to 60 immediate relatives. An open house was held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the church dining room.

 

The Grottke’s are the parents of five children, all of whom were present.

 

Among guests from away who attended the celebration were: Mr. and Mrs. John Engelsman, Janet and Raymond, Maywood, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. John Dombro, Nancy and Karen, Wheaton, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Chap Paulson, Harold and Peter, Neillsville; Mrs. Gertrude Wilson, Chicago; Mrs. Alma Carey, Eaton, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. William Grottke, Gilman Valley; Mr. and Mrs. William Pusheck, Robert and Benjamin, Wausau; Marie Neumayer, Oak Park, Ill.; Miss Laura Grottke, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brace, Jim and Melodie, Mr. and Mrs. Kebech Sragelbug, Judy, Holly, Tommy, and Esther and Merphy Grottke, (blotch) Valley; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bolander, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. David Grottke and sons, Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Guiliume and sons, Russell and Robert, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meisner, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Grade, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm, Mrs. Emma Chubb, Mrs. Hulda Wagner, Marshfield; Mrs. Doris Purkes, Unity; Mrs. Elmer Van Buren, Oconto Falls; Alfred Reisner, Sheldon, and Vesta Erickson, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grottke, and Irv and Laura, St. Paul; The Rev. and Mrs. F. The five children of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grottke are: Louis of Lynn, on the home farm; Mrs. John (Dorothy) Engelsman, Maywood, Ill.; Mrs. John (Ruth) Dombro, Wheaton, Ill.; Mrs. Chap (Ethel) Paulson, Neillsville; and Mrs. Gertrude Wilson, Chicago.
