Jerald John Meunier, age 67, of Berlin, died on Monday February 13, 2012, at his home in Berlin.

He was born on February 27, 1944, in Brown Deer, WI, the son of Willard F. C., and Alma (Arndt) Meunier.  He was a graduate of the Brown Deer High School with the class of 1962.  Jerry joined the U. S. Army and he served his country from 1961 to 1964, first in the R.O.T.C. program and then in France.

He married Mary Jane (Andrews-Van Antwerpen) on June 26, 1971, at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Menomonee Falls, WI, and she preceded him in death, in a tragic accident on October 19, 1982, in Thorp, WI.  After their marriage they moved from Menomonee Falls to Adams-Friendship, WI, in 1972.  While living there, Jerry was employed as a Deputy Sheriff.  In 1977, they moved to Thorp, WI, where he and his wife operated a dairy farm.

Then, in 1987, he moved to Berlin and purchased the Deer Stand Restaurant and Tavern (the old golf course west of town) which he operated until his retirement.  His hobbies included doing jigsaw puzzles, which was his favorite pastime, hunting, and his prized model train collection.

He is survived by one daughter, Tammie (Susan) Andrews of Luxemburg, WI; one son, Edward (Wendy) Van Antwerpen of Sheboygan, WI; one brother, Charles (RoseMary) Meunier of Cedarburg, WI; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and twin brothers, Ronnie and Donnie.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service was held on Sunday February 19, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of downtown Berlin.

Relatives and friends visited with the family on Sunday, February 19, 2012, from 1 p.m. up until the time of the service at 3 p.m.
