Franz, Genevieve (29 JUN 1963)

Miss Genevieve Franz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Franz of Owen, became the bride of Mr. Lee Kenyon, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kenyon of Unity on Saturday, June 29, 1963, at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the First Congregational Church in Owen.  The altar was decorated with two bouquets of white and yellow pompoms when the Rev. Ralph Claybaugh read the wedding vows.

The bride was gowned in a floor length lace and tulle, wearing a crown of pearls and crystal from which flowed the fingertip veil.  She carried a crescent shaped bouquet of large red roses and lily of the valley.

Serving as maid of honor was her sister, Beatrice Franz, and bridesmaid was Miss Edyth Becker of Marshfield.  They both wore street length dresses of nylon and taffeta.  The maid of honor’s in aqua and the bridesmaid’s in a deep yellow.  They carried boqueuts of aqua and white carnations.

Preceding the bride and groom to the altar was a miniature bride, Sherrie Kepke, and a miniature groom, Blain Franz.  The little bride wore a floor length gown of French lace and tulle with fingertip veil and carried a crescent shaped miniature bouquet of red roses and lily of the valley.  The miniature groom wore a dark suit and a boutonniere of a small white carnation.  He carried the ring on a white satin pillow.

The groom was attired in a dark suit with a white carnations boutonniere.  Attending the groom was Joe Baus as best man, and Charles Franz, a brother of the bride.  They both wore dark suits like the groom.

A reception and dance was held at the American Legion Hall in Owen.

After a wedding trip which tool the newlyweds to northern Wisconsin, they will make their future home west of Spencer.
