Szczesniak, Trudy (1 JUN 1963)

The marriage of Trudy Szczesniak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Savery Szczesniak, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), to Klayton Micke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Micke of Longwood, was solemnized at a 10 a.m. Nupital high mass performed in St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Lublin on Saturday, June 1, 1963.  The Rev. Edward Cyz performed the ceremony before an altar adorned with gladioli of colors orange, aqua and white.  Miss Theresa Millren was the organist.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose to wear a traditional bridal gown of fine hand-clipped rosepoint lace over white faille taffeta which ended in a train.  The molded bodice of the lovely gown carved to a "V" at the center of the waistline was styled with a Sabrina neckline, embroidered with iridescent sequins and tiny seed pearls.  The long lace sleeves tapered to points over the wrists where they were secured.  The all lace skirt was shirred at the waist and was styled with the front a double ruffle of which the top one was embroidered with one long ruffle and two smaller with sequins.  The back was designed tiers at the bottom.  The bridal veil of imported English silk illusion in fingertip length was secured to a rhinestone band crown which was adorned with crystal and pearl spikes and a pearl heart in the center.  For her bouquet she carried red and white roses.

Miss Lori Szczesniak of Milwaukee, a sister of the bride was the maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Mrs. Wm. Dmytro of Lublin, sister of the bride, and Miss Karen Micke of Wis. Rapids, sister of the groom.  They were gowned identically in pure silk organza dresses with long overskirts in aqua.  The wrap around overskirt was accented with a bow at the waist.  The bodices were styled with three quarter length sleeves, scooped necklines.  They wore hats with organza bows in a wreath shape and a cluster of flowers in front with an attached tiny pouf veil.  Their bouquets were aqua and white mums.

Douglas Missling of Owen, a friends of the groom’s, was the best man.  Groomsmen were William Dmytro, brother-in-law, from Lublin, and John Gindt, a cousin from Boyd.  Ben Umiec, a cousin from Greenwood, and Butch Szczesniak, a brother of the bride, were ushers.

Little Miss Judy Gosse was the flower girl and Bobby Dmytro of Lublin, a nephew was the ring bearer.

The church hall was the scene of the dinner-reception.  The Jolly Polkateers played at the dance held at the American legion Hall in Owen that evening.

After a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin the newlyweds will be at home in Longwood, Wis.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen-Withee Senior High School and is a teacher.

The groom is employed at the Ray Wagner Feed Mill.
