Mrs. Willis Williams entertained the Circle Wednesday.

 

Ernest Schlinsog spent Monday at Marshfield.

 

Mrs. Langdon Nichols visited Neillsville friends on Friday.

 

Mrs. Fred Hart entertained the improvement club last Friday.

 

Mrs. F.J. Baer did abstract work at Neillsville on Monday.

 

Mrs. H.E. Williams and Mrs. Oscar Doughty spent Monday at Alex Cattanach’s in Chili.

 

Wesley Shafer came home Saturday after a two week visit in Vernon County.

 

Geo. Beaver is visiting relatives and on a hunting trip at Athens since Monday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Smith of Greenbush are visiting at Art Phipps since Monday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Wiesner went to Milwaukee Monday to visit relatives.

 

Mrs. Sid Davis spent a couple days with old friends at Neillsville and returned home on Friday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Turner and daughter of York left here Monday for Westboro on a week’s visit.

 

Mrs. Albert Viergutz and daughter Irma spent Monday with friends at Neillsville.

 

Mrs. Myron Osgood and little daughter had dental work done at Neillsville on Monday.

 

Henry Heisler, after a several days visit here with his mother and sister, returned to Milladore Friday.

 

Mrs. Oscar Doughty, after a week’s visit with relatives hereabouts, returned home to Milwaukee on Tuesday.

 

John Odekirk of Campbellsport is visiting at Ralph Mayhew’s since Monday.

 

W.D. Rose was at Marshfield looking after his real estate interests there on Monday.

 

W.S. Davis has been considerably under the weather for several weeks past.

 

Mrs. Henry Wittke of Neillsville visited her sister Mrs. Bruce Armitage here a couple of days this week.

 

John Hefty, proprietor of the Chili Meat Market was here on business between trains Wednesday morning.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Helm are visiting at Milwaukee and various other state points since late last week.

 

Eunice Lloyd went to Neillsville Friday evening and made an over Sunday visit.

 

W.B. Wentworth, after a week’s visit here with his son Rush, went home to Edgerton on Saturday

 

Mrs. Solon Davis, accompanied by her mother Mrs. Smith of Greenwood, spent last Friday with friends at Neillsville.

 

Mrs. Smith of Greenwood came down last week Wednesday and spent a week between the Solon Davis and Geo. Huntley homes.

 

Fred Richter is here since last week Thursday on a two weeks visit at his brother Fergie’s.

 

Mrs. Norman Pierce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.D. Wage, has been ill and in a hospital of her home city, Duluth, for the past 2 weeks.

 

Mrs. Rush Wentworth and Mrs. F.J. Baer autoed to Neillsville Wednesday and spent the afternoon with Mrs. H.M. Root.

 

The Misses Helen Deming and Myrtle Knorr entertained at a hard times party at the Knorr home Wednesday evening.

 

The Misses Niva Gates and Alma Wittkamp went to St. Paul Wednesday where they have secured good positions doing house work.

 

Mrs. A.M. Johnson and little daughter of the York Cheese Factory went to Green Bay Monday to see Mr. C.D. Day, the former’s father who is very ill in a hospital of that city.

 

Mike Dorst went to Amber on a hunting trip on Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Eugene Crandall returned home yesterday from her visit in South Dakota.  Her sister and the latter’s children came with her as far as Neillsville.

 

Rice Davis purchased the Delos Raymond home Tuesday and will rent it to Will Shafer as soon as Mr. Raymond vacates.

 

Mrs. L.L. ayers and son Ernst went to Alma Center on business Saturday.

 

Miss Elsie Nemitz, after a week’s visit here with her sister Mrs. Herman Riedel went home to Globe on Saturday.

 

Henry Braatz of Wausau came over last Friday for a several days visit with his brother Richard and family.

 

Rev. A.E. Knaack of York left for Burtrum, Minn. Friday expecting to be gone until the holidays.

 

Mert Palmer was over from Neillsville and spent Friday afternoon with L.E. Moh.

 

Mrs. P.J. Kemmeter went to Milwaukee Sunday for a several days visit to Dr. and Mrs. Will Churchill.

 

Miss Irene Lloyd of Neillsville was the guest of her cousin Helen Deming Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Rush Wentworth entertained several couples at dinner Sunday evening.

 

Edw. Schroeder and family autoed over and spent Sunday afternoon at the Chas. Babcock home in Neillsville.

 

Milton Page spent the first of the week with his brother Irl and sister Mrs. Ed Jacobson at Neillsville.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Heisler came up from Milwaukee Friday and remained until Tuesday guests at the Wm. Schune home.  Mrs. Heisler was born Susan Schune.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Phipps came home last week Wednesday from a two weeks visit in Sheboygan County whither they were called to see the brand new baby girl at their daughter, Mrs. Louis Rhode’s.

 

The Mesdames Webb Winn, Jas. Tremelling, Frank Davis, Geo. Shummel and Henry Wittke went over to Chili from here Wednesday with some 35 to 40 Neillsville sisters and enjoyed the hospitality and big dinner of the Chili R.N.A.

 

Miss Gladys Wage entertained the O.E.S. Birthday Club and several friends at a party Saturday afternoon, at which Mrs. W.S. Davis carried off the prize, a fine tatted trimmed handmade handkerchief, she being the first to obtain the correct words through a transposition of the letters submitted in a puzzle of 20 works.

 

Mrs. Frank Lavey’s birthday called into activity the Windfall Birthday Club and all her neighbors last Saturday when one of the most enjoyable affairs of the season was held in honor of the occasion.

 

Mrs. S. Rounseville of the town of York is quite ill at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield whither it was deemed advisable to take her last Friday and where she underwent a successful operation the next day.  Her ultimate recovery is look for.

 

Mr. Rice Davis made a business trip to Marshfield Monday.

 

Ben Stubbs, who came home from Sidney, Mont. only last week Wednesday seems to have roving commission and left on Friday for Marengo, Ill. on business.

 

C.C. manning went to Richland Center last Friday on a visit to his aged father and remained until Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Peter Stallman, Miss Ethel Osgood and Mrs. Mot Osgood were among the Granton ladies who had dental work done at Neillsville Tuesday.

 

Frank Herse of Algoma, after a week’s visit between the Geo. Huntley and Solon Davis homes, accompanied his sister Mrs. Smith to her home in Greenwood Wednesday.

.

Ben Timerson, after a visit here at his brother Dan’s, left for Fifield Tuesday.  Dan accompanied him as far as Marshfield.

 

Miss Isabelle Slocomb, who was engaged with millinery work at Greenwood this fall, finished the season’s work and came home last week Tuesday.
