Tuesday of last week Mrs. Opelt was obliged to go to the Marshfield hospital and undergo another operation.

 

At the Ladies Aid meeting Thursday of last week the election of officers was postponed.

 

Rev. Peckham filled his appointment at Lindsey last Sunday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. P. Ketelle dined at W.C. Washburn’s Sunday.

 

Miss Ella Merriam of Grand Rapids spent Sunday with Nellie Broker.  Mr. Broker and Nellie met her at Marshfield by auto.

 

The Gasner family, who purchased the farm known as the Dewey place, came from Chicago Wednesday of last week by way of Marshfield and their goods came to Lindsey Thursday.  J.D. Johnson, having the farm rented, they moved into the Hahm house recently vacated by Geo. Burt.

 

Mrs. Herman Hahm was a shopper at Lynn last Saturday.

 

The saw mill finished at Johnson’s Wednesday of last week and pulled over to Mentkeys, just over the county line.

 

We should have said last week that Anna, Susie and Edwin Ketelle were Monday evening callers upon Nellie Broker, the occasion being her birthday.

 

Harold Washburn came home from his western trip Tuesday of last week and left again Tuesday to go to Iowa.

 

Mrs. W.J. Robinson was a passenger on the outgoing train Tuesday for Grand Rapids to visit her son Warren, attending the high school, and other friends in that city.

 

The section crew has been cut down to two besides the boss.  This is a reminder that winter is near at hand.

 

Rev. Brenner, the district Superintendent, will be at Lindsey church next Monday evening to preach and hold the quarterly conference.  He will be accompanied by Rev. Peckham and they will be obliged by way of Marshfield and Chili.

 

Lynn had quite a Lindsey delegation on Tuesday morning’s train, Lura Haertl, Will Muir, and Herman Ulbricht all making the trip.

 

Chris Paulson shipped two cars of stock from Lindsey Tuesday, one with cattle and the other a double decker of sheep.

 

Town Clerk C.J. Ingle was putting up guide posts last Monday.

 

That fine and valuable Guernsey bull owned by Henry Forence and having been kept by A.J. Prest the past year, has taken his departure from Lindsey and gone to Rosedale where eh will head the herd of Chas. Hill.  Mr. Hill became his owner by putting up the handsome sum of $1200.  This price will indicate that the animal is recognized as one of the leading Guernseys of the state, and too when you come to know that Mr. Hill is President of the American Guernsey Breeders Association, it will be conceded that he knows what he is about.  This animal, together witht eh rest of Mr. Florence’s herd, left Lindsey Tuesday to be driven to Marshfield, comprising of two cows and two calves, to be tested fro tuberculosis, after which they will be shipped to Manley, Ia., where Mr. Florence is making his headquarters.

 

Ham and Tilton shipped a car of wood from Lindsey Tuesday.

 

Report has it that Dr. Lovesee has started action against the town of rock for a thousand dollars damage for his accident some time ago, and the town is to have a special meeting regarding the matter.
