Garbisch, Victor F. (12 March 1905 - 2 October 1964)

 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton for Victor F. Garbisch, 59, of Rt. 2 Loyal, who died Friday at his home from effects of a stroke suffered earlier this year.  The Rev. Evan Dieck of the Zion American Lutheran Church of the Town of Grant officiated.  Burial was made in the East Cemetery in the Town of Weston.

 

Victor F. Garbisch was born March 12, 1905, in the Town of Grant, where he attended rural schools.  He also attended the parochial school in Granton.  His marriage to the former Ann Spangler took place June 12, 1929, in Winona, Minn. They farmed in Wood County for several years and moved to a farm in the Town of York.

 

He is survived by his wife; a son, Paul Garbisch of Dellwood; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Werner of Milwaukee and Mrs. Noel (Maryann) Olson of Loyal; and a stepson, Duane Lielke of Milwaukee.  Other survivors are a brother, Frederick of Granton; four sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Agnes) Marg of Granton, Mrs. Emmanuel (Anita) Romang, Jr., of Athens, Mrs. Ortwin (Hilda) Schimmel and Mrs. Joseph (Leona) Tucker of Superior; and 12 grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were Herman Strangfeld, Martin Hillert, Emil Schlinsog, Melchoir Hoesly, Wilbur Joyce and Douglas Buddinger.
