Moczarny, Mary Ann (12 MAY 1962)

St. Hedwig’s Catholic Chapel was the setting Saturday, May 12, 1962, for the wedding uniting Miss Mary Ann Moczarny, daughter of Mrs. Mary Moczarny of Thorp, and Arthur Brodbeck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brodbeck of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

Bouquets of colored carnations and ferns decorated the chapel for the 10>00 a.m. nuptial Mass said by Rev. Chester Moczarny of Spring Valley, who is the brother of the bride.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her brother, Leon Moczarny of Wausau.

The bride wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace.

A scalloped portrait neckline etched with sequins and seed pearls, with long traditional tapered sleeves and fitted Basque.  The bouffant skirt was fashioned with scalloped lace edge, highlighted by two roses on the sides and one in front and back over gathered gossamer sheer tulle.  A pearl crown with pearl drops held her silk illusion fingertip veil.  She carried a bouquet of white stephanotis surrounding a lavender orchid.

Miss Margaret Brodbeck, sister of the groom, was maid of honor.  Miss Barbara Moczarny, niece of the bride, served as bridesmaid, and Sharon Moczarny, niece of the bride, as flower girl.

They wore identical gowns of blue chiffon over taffeta scoop neckline and short sleeves, highlighted by a cummerbund and bow in back.  The dresses were all street length except for Sharon’s, whose was floor length.  They wore matching blue hats and gloves and carried baskets of blue and with daisies.

Norman Mathewson attended his friend as best man, and Frank Brodbeck, brother of the groom, was groomsman.

Gene Zoromski and Frank Kawalski ushered.

The men were attired identically in dark trousers with white coats.

The mother of the bride wore a corsage of pink sweetheart roses on a navy blue dress.  Her accessories were white and navy blue.

A similar corsage was worn by the groom’s mother on her pale blue brocade dress.  Her accessories were blue and white.

The young couple will reside at 416 Prairie St. in Mauston.

Out of town guests were from Minneapolis, Rochester and Big Lake, Minn., Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Milwaukee, Medford, Stanley, Owen, Withee and Gilman.
