Schlinsog. Claire (07 DEC 1927-29 DEC 2011)

 

Claire "Bud" Schlinsog, 84, Kenosha, died on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services were held at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kenosha. Interment followed in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

 

Born on Dec. 7, 1927, in Granton, he was the son of Edward and Lillie (nee Lindow) Schlinsog. He attended Zion Lutheran Grade School and Granton High School. On April 22, 1950, he married Ilene Rowley, in Loyal. He was employed as a cheese maker for many years in the Loyal area before moving to Kenosha in 1955. He then began his 30 year career with ARCO Auto Transport where he was employed as a driver and Mechanic. He was also known as "Sling" in the Kenosha area. He was a member of Frieden’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Teamsters Locals #95 and #43. He was an avid NASCAR and Green Bay Packers fan and cherished his memories that were created while he and his wife were camping.

 

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ilene; four children, Sally (Bennie) Skelton, Jack (Joan) Schlinsog, Dale (Suzanne) Schlinsog, and Jerry (Kelly) Schlinsog; nine grandchildren, Jason (Kim), Greg (Stephanie), and Cory Schlinsog, Heidi (Zach) Matancsi, Stephanie (Justin) Patti, Rachael Kaleck, Brian and Janet Skelton, and Melinda Schlinsog; four great-grandchildren, Myah and Zander Matancsi and Lily and Mason Schlinsog; and one sister, Norene McHone.

 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Schlinsog. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial remembrances be made to either Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church or to Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158.

 

Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Kenosha, assisted the family with arrangements.
