Trachte, Karen Mae (Marriage –27 June 1964)

 

Miss Karen Mae Trachte, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Trachte of Neillsville, and Wayne Raymond Kurth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kurth of Granton, exchanged nuptial vows in a double ring ceremony Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.  Officiating was the Rev. F. C. Benecke.

 

Mrs. Byron Trachte sang, "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

 

The bride approached the altar with her father in a floor-length gown of pure Chantilly lace, fashioned with a sculptured bodice and long, tapered sleeves. The gown was enhanced by scalloped lace at a square neckline. The skirt was styled with four tiers of lace which flowed into a chapel-length train held by tailored lace bows.  Her illusion veil flowed from a crown of pearls and aurora borealis crystals. She carried a bouquet of yellow tea roses centered with an orchid.

 

Miss Sharon Kurth of Granton was maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Romaine Boyer of Neillsville, Mrs. Lyle Abrahamson of Fairchild, Miss Sandra Kurth of Granton, and Miss Carol Horehled of Neillsville.

 

Capt. Byron Trachte of Winter Park, Fla., served as bestman. Groomsmen were Michael and Glenn Kurth of Granton, Arnold Trachte of Wonewoc, and Roger Krause of Granton. The ushers were Romaine Boyer of Neillsville and Norman Wesenberg of Granton.

 

A reception was held in the church parlors and a dance was held that evening in Neillsville.

 

The new Mrs. Kurth is a 1962 graduate of the Neillsville High School and graduated from Eau Claire vocational and adult school in January 1963.  She has been attending Wisconsin State College in Eau Claire.  Mr. Kurth attended Granton schools and in engaged in road construction.

 

People from away attending the wedding were: the Rev. and Mrs. Marvin Westphal of Brandon; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Tifft, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Klingsporn and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Timlin, all of St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schult of Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Braatz of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Krause of Menomonee Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Beckman of Eau Claire; Mrs. Martha Trachte of Auburndale.
