Meyer, Judy Ann (Marriage - 1964)

The altar of St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester was adorned with bouquets of white gladioli, red and white carnations for the nuptial high mass which solemnized the marriage of Judy Ann Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin J. Meyer of Dorchester, and Wayne L. Underwood, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Orman Underwood of Dorchester. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Gerald F. Schuh.

Four hundred guests witnessed as Mr. Meyer escorted his daughter to the altar.

For her wedding she wore a floor-length gown of silk organza over taffeta, the bodice of which was fashioned with a bateau neckline, outlined with jewel-trimmed re-embroidered lace. A draped cummerbund topped the controlled skirt front, which repeated the re-embroidered lace and jewel trim. The back was accented by bow and sash and ended in a chapel sweep. Her bouffant elbow length imported silk illusion veil was held by a double crown of lace and miniature pearls and crystals, with a large fabric-styled flower attached to the crown. She carried a cascade style bouquet of red roses and white stephanotis with rose buds attached to white streamers.

Miss Chris Waldhart, a friend, was maid-of-honor.  Bridesmaids were Mrs. Allen Empey of Abbotsford; Mrs. Norbert Schumacher, aunt of the groom, of Wausau; and Miss Wanda Underwood, a sister of the groom from Dorchester.

Don Meyer, of Dorchester, brother of the bride, was best man.  Groomsmen were Allen Empey, a friend, of Dorchester; Norbert Schumacher of Wausau, uncle of the groom; and Larry Meyer, a brother of the bride.  Ushers were Bruce Meyer of Dorchester; Dennis Underwood of Medford; Dale Meyer and Warren Underwood, both of Dorchester.

Timmy Meyer, bother of the bride, carried the rings on a white satin pillow.  Wanita Underwood, a sister of the groom, was flower girl. She was dressed as a miniature bride.

The day’s events included a dinner and reception at the bride’s home, a supper in the church hall, and a dance in the evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Underwood will reside in Dorchester after July 6 on their return from a two-week wedding trip to Yellowstone National Park and the Black Hills.

The bride a 1961 graduate of Dorchester High School attended Wisconsin State College in Eau Claire, and has been employed as a bookkeeper in Dorchester.  Mr. Underwood, a 1961 graduate of the Dorchester school, attended Wausau Technical Institute.
