Central Clark County (18 June 1964)

 

The summer recreation program began June 15 in Loyal under the direction of Cy Buker. The program is open to students from the fourth grade through the senior high school.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schefus of Loyal were surprised by friends recently on their 30th wedding anniversary.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Chase of the Town of York were in Owen recently to attend a wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Brian Bushnell.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kitzhaber and family of Greenwood were recent dinner guests of her mother, Mrs. Myrtia Davis of near Granton.

 

George Zuehlke, Jr., has returned to Loyal from a two week trip through eastern states.  He was accompanied by Paul Radke and David Meyer of Oconomowoc.

 

Ricky and Terry Johnson of Humbird are spending two weeks with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Zuehlke, Sr., of Loyal.

 

Rodelle Scheel of Sun Prairie formerly of Loyal was graduated June 15 from a vocational school in Milwaukee. He has completed a course in barbering and will work in Madison. 

 

Carolyn Pagelsdorf of Loyal spent a weekend in Rice Lake and caught a 28-inch walleyed pike which weighed six pounds, four ounces.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jayson Brentlinger and son and daughter of Phoenix, Ariz., flew their private plane to Marshfield one day last week.  They were met by Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nystad of Loyal, who brought them to Loyal, where the Brentlinger family is visiting relatives. They plan to be back in Phoenix by July 4.

 

Mrs. Joe Hecker has returned to Loyal after spending the winter with her children.  Her visits were in Nebraska, California, Ohio, and Wisconsin.  She was brought to Loyal by her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Dollas of Wausau.

 

Two baptisms were held recently in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal, with the Rev. Fr. Norbert E. King officiating.  They were: Karen Marie, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Wetzel, and Alan David, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hesse.

 

Post No. 175, Loyal American Legion, has selected Thomas Guzman and John Trnka to represent Loyal High School at Badger Boys State in Ripon, June 13-20.

 

Mrs. Owen Williams of Glendive, Mont., has been visiting relatives and friends in Greenwood.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wigtil have returned to South Gate, Cal., after spending several days with her sister, Mrs. Harris Jolivette and family of Greenwood.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Krueger and family of Loyal were recent guests at the Mrs. William Marden home in Greenwood.

 

Mrs. Shirley Neuenfeldt and daughter of Greenwood spent a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milan Cox, in Osseo.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dixon and son of Greenwood, and Mrs. Alta Devos of Neillsville were called to Fond du Lac recently, where Mrs. Paris Rand was injured in a fall, (few words missing).
