Staut, Mary Anne (Marriage - 13 June 1964)

The Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Mary Anne Staut, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Janvid J. Staut of La Crosse, and Michael A. Friedman of Greenwood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Friedman of Eau Claire. The 11 a.m. double ring nuptial mass was performed by the Rev. William Nikolai. Baskets of pink and white peonies were used to decorate the church.

Three hundred guests witnessed as Mr. Staut gave his daughter in marriage. For her wedding she selected a floor-length gown of silk organza, styled with an inserted panel of re-embroidered Alencon lace and bouffant side folds that flowed into a chapel train. The Basque bodice was fashioned with elbow-length sleeves.  A veil of imported silk illusion was held by a double crown of lace and miniature crystals and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet made up of a white orchid surrounded by red roses and white stephanotis.

A cousin, Miss Barbara Volovsek of Willard, was her maid-of-honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Miss Sophie Rifelj and Mira Kotar, friends from Milwaukee.

Patrick Watkins of Eau Claire was bestman. Groomsmen were John and Victor Staut, brothers of the bride, also from Milwaukee.  Ken Beigel of Milwaukee and Dave Volovsek of Willard ushered.

The adult choir of the church sang the nuptial mass, "Ave Maria" and "On this day".

The days events consisted of a dinner and reception at a hall in Willard, a buffet supper at Mead Lake and a dance in the evening.
