East Lynn (8 September 1911)

Mrs. C. Guk went to see her sister Mrs. Fred Heins Tuesday morning who is still at the hospital at Marshfield and reports that at present she is very low.

Some of Mrs. Fred Zuehlke’s relatives who have been spending the past week with the former returned to their home at Milwaukee Monday morning.

Herman Voigt is the proud possessor of a Ford touring car and it is well to give warning to the public to keep their dogs and young shoats off the road or better still to hide them behind the barn and persons that are compelled to travel the highway of necessity are the safest in the middle of the road, for it is seldom that his car is seen there, for it has a habit of tearing down barbed wire fences and running into pine stumps.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jensen were Chili callers Tuesday.

Mrs. Wm. Guk and children drove to Granton to see Mr. Guk who is under the doctor’s care, and it is reported that he has greatly improved and will soon return to his home.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grade and children attended the picnic at Nasonville, Sunday.

School will commence Monday, the 11th of September with Howard White as teacher.

A large number of young folks gathered at the home of A. Pusheck last Friday evening and helped their daughter Lydia celebrate her 16th birthday.

A number from here attended the funeral of Willie Kempin Sunday afternoon.

Harry Eide says because his tan shoes squeak that is no sign that they are not paid for.

Among those who spent Sunday at A. Pusheck’s were the F. Helm and L. E. Moh families.
