Pachal, Duane O. (15 NOV 1931 - 6 JAN 2012)

 

Duane Orval Pachal, 80, of Loyal, died at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, surrounded by his family. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, rural Loyal. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal, and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Duane was born on Nov. 15, 1931, in the town of Beaver, rural Loyal, the son of Louis and Elsie (Wehling) Pachal. He graduated from Loyal High School in 1949. 

Duane was united in marriage to Janet E. Ehlert on Oct. 2, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. He farmed his entire life, taking over his family farm in 1969 and retiring in 1995. He also drove school bus for the Loyal School District for 24 years. 

Duane had many interests, but especially loved traveling, spending time with his family, helping others, and picking apples to make apple cider and applesauce.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Janet, of Loyal; his children, Roger (Lori) of Wausau, Arla (Michael) Homann of Park Falls, Betty (Ron) Boulieu of Marshfield, Virgil (Lora) of Marshfield, Susan (Kenneth) Klimpke of Marshfield, and Gloria (Rich) Thom of Cato, Wis.; his daughter-in-law, Elaine Pachal of Winter Haven, Fla; 13 grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James; and his grandson, Jeremiah Pachal.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Contingency Fund.

Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal is assisting the family with arrangements.
