Twait, Frederick #3 (13 SEP 1894 - 23 NOV 1961)

 

Frederick Twait, who has made his home in the Longwood community for 37 years, died at his home early Thursday morning when he suffered a heart attack.

 

He was 67 years of age.

 

Funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock Saturday afternoon, Nov. 25, 1961, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Longwood with Rev. A.C. Myhrwold officiating.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were John Ericksmoen, James Peterson, Vaino Talso, Emory Sorenson, Harold Sorenson, and Stanley Greschner.  Carrying the floral offerings were Mesdames Emory Sorenson, James Peterson, John Ericksomoen and Harold Sorenson.

 

Frederick Severen Twait was born Sept. 13, 1894, in Norway.  When a tot of two years of age he accompanied his parents to this country, settling at Ottawa, Ill.  In 1919 he moved to the Longwood area, settling on a farm.  Jan. 14, 1939, he was united in marriage to Rosie Lee Whitman of Greenwood.  The couple made their home in Longwood until 1954 when he accepted as stationary engineer at Lake Forest Academy at Lake Forrest, Ill.  They remained there until his retirement in 1959 when they returned to their farm in the Town of Longwood.

 

He is survived by his wife; one son, Howard, of Wis. Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Richers and Frieda Twait, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Edythe Vromen, Wis. Rapids; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Twait; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Sorenson and Elizabeth Twait, rural Owen, and Mrs. Vaino Talso, rural Greenwood; and four brothers, Nels and Olaf, Owen, Silas, Good Hope, Ill, and Elmer of Chicago, Ill.
