Voightlander, Elizabeth (21 MAY 1901 - 2 OCT 1993)

 

COLBY--Elizabeth Voigtlander, 92, Colby, died at 7:45 a.m. Saturday at Colonial House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Colby.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Church of Christ, Colby, with the Rev. Kenneth A. Dix officiating.  Burial will be in Abbotsford Public Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be grandsons, David, Larry and Ricky Syring, David and Jim Voigtlander and Art Smith.

 

Visitation will be at Community Funeral Home, Colby, after 4 p.m.today with a Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary service at 7 tonight.

 

She was born May 21, 1901, in the town of Green Grove, to the late Henry and Fredericka (Loos) Awe.  She received her education in the Town of Green Grove.  She was married to Henry Paul Voigtlander Aug. 29, 1923, in the town of Green Grove, and he died Jan. 20, 1964.

 

She and her husband farmed in the Town of Colby until retiring in 1957.  They then moved to Abbotsford.  She moved to Colby in 1971.

 

She was a member of First United Church of Christ,, an honorary member of the Women's Guild and a member of Chapter One Friends of Sunburst.  She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary in Abbotsford and a member of Colby VFW Post 2227 Women's Auxiliary.

 

 Survivors include one son, Henry of Urbana, Ill.; one daughter, Ellen Syring of Edgar; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
