Granton (16 April 1964)

 

Kathie Hubing accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Harland Kuhl and family to Milwaukee, where they were weekend guests of relatives.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ottow of rural Neillsville and his mother, Mrs. William Ottow of Memorial Home, visited one afternoon last week with Mrs. Ollie Poler.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Poler were Sunday afternoon visitors at the Paul Quam home. 

 

Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidtke, accompanied by Ethel Berg and Elsie Nowack, toured the Medford area Sunday.

 

Mrs. Clarence Reisner and sons of Marshfield were Sunday dinner guests of her mother, Mrs. Elsie Nowack.  In the afternoon they visited at the Allen Reisner home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hansen and family visited one day last week with the Leroy Hansen family of Antigo.

 

Paul Friedrich of Ladysmith spent the weekend with his niece, Mrs. Leland Garbisch, and her family.

 

Miss Joyce Garbisch of St. Paul, Minn., was a weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Garbisch.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hoeft and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Braatz and family were Sunday dinner and supper guests at the Ray Kurth home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Braatz entertained a group of friends Saturday evening in honor of their 23rd wedding anniversary.

 

Mrs. Glenn Kurth underwent an emergency appendectomy Saturday in Memorial Hospital.

 

The Granton Civic club met Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Dan Garbisch. A dessert luncheon was served at 7:45 p.m. by the hostesses, Mrs. Ethel Berg and Mrs. William Schmidtke. The program on "Health and Home Life" was presented by Mrs. Clayton Gardner and Mrs. Douglas Larsen. A social hour followed.

Rotary members from Loyal, Marshfield and Neillsville were guests Tuesday evening of the Granton Rotary Club.  Wives of members attended the country-style dinner served in the parlors of Zion Lutheran Church.

 

The guests were welcomed by Ollie Poler, president of the Granton club.  Musical numbers by students from the Granton High School provided entertainment.]

 

District Rotary Gov. Myron Jenkins of Menomonie attended.  Current state problems, was the topic of the speaker, Assemblyman Frank Nikolay, of Abbotsford.

 

Francis Steiner, Granton agriculture instructor, was master of ceremonies.
